Emmy award-winning filmmaker, veteran Sag-Aftra actress, and a highly regarded Talent Scout for Bay Area Agents, Melinda Darlington-Bach will cover all aspects of what your teen needs for a solid and confident on-camera audition. This extensive 4 hour class covers an overview of the SF market for teens/tweens and will be all encompassing, covering slates, commercial cold reads , improv and film/tv scripts from "Stranger Things" "Ray Donovan", "Ladybird" and "Divorce". Class is taught from from the professional casting rooms of Das Studio. Informal showcase for parents at the end. Snacks provided.

Instructor: Melinda Darlington-Bach
Background: Melinda Darlington-Bach is an Emmy award-winning filmmaker, casting director, and a 25-year veteran SAG/AFTRA actress. In both Los Angeles and San Francisco, she has worked in over 65 national commercials, industrials and feature films. Using her superb teaching skills, Melinda has been working for the Young Actor's Theater Camp (YATC), California Film Institute and San Francisco Acting Academy (SFAA), teaching and coaching on-camera theatrical and commercial classes for several years. Melinda has coached many young actors, preparing them for important film and television auditions, from Disney’s “Cloud Nine and Madison High” to Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine.. As an Emmy award-winning filmmaker, she has produced and directed work for dozens of clients, including the prestigious Sesame Street for several seasons. As a choreographer, she is a master at blending musicality and rich ideas for film, theater and opera that have captured audiences for many years. Her impeccable sense of innovation and style are reflected in her ever evolving approach to all performing arts. About San Francisco Acting Academy

The SF Acting Academy is a professional On Camera workshop school. Our mission: prepare actors to audition and work in the Bay Area acting market and connect those actors to the industry. Our comprehensive on-camera program includes Commercial – Voice Over- Acting Fundamentals – Audition Techniques and offers classes for actors of all ages and all experience levels. The San Francisco Acting Academy was founded in 2001 in collaboration with top casting professionals, actors and teachers in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is our goal to provide the space for both new and experienced actors to hone their on camera skills and to make them more competitive in the SFBA market by connecting our school to the industry. Over the years we have accomplished this in several ways: We offer a variety of classes geared to prepare actors for the demands of auditioning and working in the challenging Bay Area Market. Our instructors are the best in the business; not only accomplished working actors and teachers, but casting session directors, television and radio producers and theater directors. They bring a unique perspective from both sides of the performance and the casting process. Our class sizes are kept to a minimum, giving each student ample time in front of the camera and mic. All of our classes are held at Das Studio, home to Greg Cohen, Kristen Beck and Beau Bonneau Casting. Classes are taught using state of the art camera equipment and casting software, giving each actor a taste of the real world auditioning environment. And each student will have the opportunity to watch their progress on tape.
