Thank you for your patience, support and understanding during this challenging time!We are excited for our first online offering and this virtual workshop is available for anyone interested from London to LA. SCRIPT ANALYSIS CLASS WITH ROLF SAXON!!3 spots left."Rolf brings an amazing imagination and creativity … which creates a relaxed, safe and professional atmosphere” Jake L. No cameras. No lights. No recording. Just you and the play. When actors understand what the playwright/scriptwriter is saying, both broadly and specifically, it frees us to create while staying within the parameters of the story structure. Without this knowledge, actors very often make wrong assumptions and end up with creative decisions that don’t fit within the story - and can actually end up working against the author’s purpose. In this class, together, you will learn how to recognize cues and clues in the author’s words, which will make you a better storyteller. And if when you know how to breakdown a play, cold readings of speeches and scenes at auditions become much easier, more fun and, ultimately, more successful! This class is not only ideal for actors, but directors, producers and audience members as well We’ll start with “A View From The Bridge” by Arthur Miller, a play that is absolutely relevant to today. The only prerequisites for this course are to have read the play before the first class and to have a copy with you. Rolf Saxon has been teaching this course for years in both London and San Francisco and we are thrilled to have it be our first online offering. Check out Rolf's bio at www.rolfsaxon.com“He taught me to trust my instincts, that everything is about choice … the final decision is something to be embraced and not afraid of.” Samantha G.Course of 3 classes. The SF Acting Academy is a professional On Camera workshop school. Our mission: prepare actors to audition and work in the Bay Area acting market and connect those actors to the industry. Our comprehensive on-camera program includes Acting Fundamentals and Auditioning Technique for Commercials, Corporate Films, Television and Films. We offer classes for actors of all ages and experience levels. The San Francisco Acting Academy was founded in 2001 in collaboration with top casting professionals, actors and teachers in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is our goal to provide the space for both new and experienced actors to hone their on camera skills and to make them more competitive in the SFBA market. We offer a variety of classes geared to prepare actors for the demands of auditioning and working in the challenging Bay Area Market. Our instructors are the best in the business; not only accomplished working actors and teachers, but casting session directors, television and radio producers and theater directors. They bring a unique perspective from both sides of the performance and casting process. Our class sizes are kept to a minimum, giving each student ample time in front of the camera and mic. All of our classes are held at Das Studio, home to Greg Cohen, Kristen Beck and Beau Bonneau Casting. Classes are taught using state of the art camera equipment and casting software, giving each actor a taste of the real world auditioning environment. And each student will have the opportunity to watch their progress on tape.
