We are excited to have the amazingly talented Jeffrey Weissman return to SFAA! This 4 week workshop is for Actors in Film, Commercials, Industrials, Voice Over, Stage and Trade Shows. Learn how to hone practical tools to use in auditions, rehearsals, and on set. This 4 week workshop will cover putting copy into action, improvisation using the script as inspiration, detecting 'the inferred' to discern character history & relationships, exploring your character’s life with inner monologue, plus the use of props and locations to develop on set actions. Gain confidence and learn how to make bold choices, using your intuition, and ‘the essence of you’. The class will also include an introduction to a great cold reading technique, and 'the business of the biz'; on set protocols and putting your promotional materials and team together. Instructor: Jeffrey Weissman
Background: Jeffrey Weissman coaches acting talent, drawing on his 45 years of experience in the industry working on big budget majors, low budget indies, industrials, commercials, voice overs, mo-cap, spokesperson, trade shows, publicity appearances, stage and environmental theater shows. He has appeared in over 70 motion pictures, and television shows, having co-stared with Michael J. Fox, Clint Eastwood, and John Lithgow, among other acting legends. Trusted by C.D’s and film directors; Robert Zemeckis, George Miller, Clint Eastwood, Martin Brest, Amy Heckerling, Oz Scott, Catherine Harwicke, Greg Araki and many others. Jeffrey knows how to deliver the goods. He trained at ACT, SFSU, SMCC and in Hollywood at the Studios of Jackie Benton, Peter Flood, and Harvey Lembeck. He has been artistic director of improv groups and helped form legendary Los Angeles Theater Sports. He teaches at Sonoma State University, Bay Area Professional Actors Studio, and he's taught at San Francisco School of Digital Film Making, Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts (SOTA), Dominican University, and workshops at festivals and expos around the country.

About San Francisco Acting Academy

The SF Acting Academy is a professional On Camera workshop school. Our mission: prepare actors to audition and work in the Bay Area acting market and connect those actors to the industry. Our comprehensive on-camera program includes Commercial – Voice Over- Acting Fundamentals – Audition Techniques and offers classes for actors of all ages and all experience levels. The San Francisco Acting Academy was founded in 2001 in collaboration with top casting professionals, actors and teachers in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is our goal to provide the space for both new and experienced actors to hone their on camera skills and to make them more competitive in the SFBA market by connecting our school to the industry. Over the years we have accomplished this in several ways: We offer a variety of classes geared to prepare actors for the demands of auditioning and working in the challenging Bay Area Market. Our instructors are the best in the business; not only accomplished working actors and teachers, but casting session directors, television and radio producers and theater directors. They bring a unique perspective from both sides of the performance and the casting process. Our class sizes are kept to a minimum, giving each student ample time in front of the camera and mic. All of our classes are held at Das Studio, home to Greg Cohen, Kristen Beck and Beau Bonneau Casting. Classes are taught using state of the art camera equipment and casting software, giving each actor a taste of the real world auditioning environment. And each student will have the opportunity to watch their progress on tape.
